Turin Book Fair Fellowship

We are honoured, and genuinely humbled, to share that Dryad’s Michèle Betty has been awarded a fully funded fellowship to attend the Turin Book Fair (13–15 May 2026). Our deepest thanks to the fellowship organisers and to the Italian Trade Agency for making this possible.

Turin is one of the world’s great literary gatherings, and to be part of it as a representative of independent South African publishing, is a privilege we do not underestimate. For nearly a decade, Dryad Press has championed poetry that defamiliarises: work that surprises in form, illuminates contemporary experience, and insists on its own necessity.

Our authors have been recognised by the South African Literary Awards, the Glenna Luschei Prize for African Poetry, the Ingrid Jonker Prize, and beyond. This fellowship is an opportunity to take our curatorial vision further and into conversation with like-minded publishers, translators, and rights professionals across Europe and the world. We look forward to the connections, the conversations, and, above all, to finding the readers and partners these extraordinary collections deserve.
