The Zero Summer Tour: A Thank You

Three cities. Three evenings. One collection that held the room each time.

The Zero Summer book launch tour is now complete, and we find ourselves in that particular kind of aftermath – grateful, a little tired, and still turning over lines from the poems in our heads.

We want to take a moment to thank everyone who made these evenings what they were.

To Love Books in Melville, Oude Leeskamer in Stellenbosch, and The Book Lounge in Cape Town: thank you for opening your spaces to us and to Simon’s work. Each venue brought its own atmosphere, and each one felt exactly right for the poems – the kind of spaces where literature breathes easily.

To David Mann, Eckard Smuts, and Hedley Twidle: the conversations you drew out of the work were exactly what a launch should be, not a recitation of what the book is, but a genuine thinking-through of what it does. Simon was in excellent hands, and so were the audiences.

And to everyone who came out on the night, stayed for the conversation, asked questions, and took a copy of Zero Summer home, thank you. A book needs readers, and you showed up. That is everything.
