I was a teacher, but now I write. I find early mornings best, and write for up to three hours.

A reminder that lack of distraction, quiet and solitude are blissful . They can be self-generated after Covid.

- Read as many and as varied a selection of as you can
- Switch everything off and go for a walk, hang up the washing, give your brain time to wander
